For this whimsical card I used the sweet Stocking image from the Color Me Christmas stamp set and the sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set. Both from Stampin Up!
The ribbon strips are made from card stock using the faux suede technique.

Joyful Christmas Card
For this card I used the Dynamic Duo DD # 82 colour scheme, Primrose petals and Gumball green. I really like how the two colours work together.

Deer Christmas Card
Holiday magic happens when friends get together to craft and share! Thanks Margo for a fun afternoon of chin wagging and crafting! :)
Today, Dec 6, is St. Nicklaus Day, a day that I remember fondly from my childhood. My brother and I would set our boots outside of our bedroom doors the night of the fifth. And in the morning we would find a small gift in them. Sometime a small toy or some fruit or chocolates.
One of my favorites was a ball of yarn and a pair of knitting needles. Then the real magic happened as my mother showed me how to knit! :)
Wishing every one a Happy Crafty Holiday!

Mata Ortiz Pottery
Six weeks ago on a trip to Mexico my DH purchased these two Wedding vases made by the potters of Mata Ortiz. He was on his motorcycle and had them shipped UPS, they finally arrived this week.
There is a very interesting art story behind this style of pottery. Detailed in a book called the Miracle of Mata Ortiz. In short a young boy, Juan Quezada finds ancient pot shards as he's collecting firewood for his family. He experiments until he is able to duplicate the methods used to make, fire and decorate the ancient pottery. Through all this he becomes one of Mexico's premier Artists and saves his small town of Mata Ortiz in the process.
To find out more, read an interview with the Author Walt Parks of Miracle of Mata Ortiz here: Stanford Magazine Article
Or for Eye candy check out the Google image files for Mata Ortiz Pottery
Enjoy!

Fall 2013
Fall 2013, a set on Flickr.
Hello all! :)
I'm back now from a wonderful month at the cottage where I spent my vacation gardening, relaxing and watching as the season changed to fall.
The lake has been a busy place, full of migrating waterfowl as they stop over on their way south. Last week was first frost and I snapped a few photo's to share of the flowers.
Hope you've all been enjoying a lovely Fall too!
