Poetry Journal Share

Good morning!
My weekends have been all about gardening. Even when I take a break I think about the gardens so it's of little surprise that this is what's spilling over into my Poetry Journal.

I started to decorate the cover of  my Journal, there's still a way to go but here's where it's at for now.

Before I go on I'd like to share a little about my process and why I'm showing my journal this way. I've decided to just write and draw as it comes to me and leave my inner editor out of it. Trust me if it we're up to her there would be very little left to share. :)

This page came about after an evening walk in the yard as the light was fading. I noticed that the coloured flowers were hard to see but the whites really stood out.
For Every Flower There is an Hour
Good morning sunshine,
wake up yellow buttercup.
Then high noon the bright pink, dark red and
blue will shine true.
But when the light fades, some magic happens,
for it's then that the whites glow!

After almost a year of speculation as to what colour the Poppies in our garden are the first one bloomed and this was the inspiration for this page.

What I Found in my Garden Today

I dropped a seed into the ground, watered well and waited long.
But in the end they to me.
One leaf at a time peeped up out of the ground.
This is what I found in my garden today.

Thanks for stopping in I enjoyed your visit!
Have a crafty day my friend!

Stamped Collage Artist Trading Card Album - Tutorial

Hello, I'm back again with my Tutorial for making a Stamped Collage ATC Album.
This time around I've gone with a very organic colour scheme.

 Front Cover
 Inside with ATC's
Back cover

Photo 1
Instructions for ATC Album
Start with 1- 8.5”x11” (letter size) sheet of patterned cardstock and 1- 8.5”x11”solid coloured cardstock.
Cut solid cardstock to 8.5”x9.25” (or ½” wider than card sleeves).
Now cut both pieces of cardstock in half length wise.
Piece together so that the extra 1-3/4” on the patterned cardstock is on the right when you look at front and that the pattern is right side up if needed. Then adhere together, folding the extra patterned cardstock to the inside.
Now do the same for the back when you are looking at it the extra will be to your left. Use corner rounder on opening ends. Set aside to dry if needed.

Cut several 9 to a page trading card sleeves into 3 parts (carefully cut just below where the rows are welded)  See Photo 1 (I started with 4 or 5 and add more as needed)
Note: 1 sleeve =3 pages which will hold 3 ATC’s single sided or 6 cards back to back.

Punch 2 -¼” holes in covers and sleeves as per photo below.

Now that the glue is dry the fun begins. Decorate your patterned cardstock with a stamped collage of your choice.
Add stamped ATC to center front of album or chipboard letters look great too.  Be sure to sign and date back of album.
For my album I started with HA Musical Background stamp.

Followed by the HA Fern.

Complete collage background with HA Medallion.
Tip: to save time and ink line up both covers and stamp as one for partial impressions on each.
To assemble add ribbon to hold all together.
Here a final photo of completed cover and supplies.
The ATC and Art stamps are from Quietfire Design.

*******Now Closed the winner is LaVon*******************************
Please leave a comment for your chance to win this Album with 3 ATC’s included.
One winner will be drawn on June 20th at random from comments left on this blog only.

I’d love to see your finished album so please do add a link in the comment section to your creation too!

The options to customize your ATC Album are endless, have fun and happy trading!

Believe Card

Hello, back to share this colourful card I made for an exchange
in the LOVE handmade cards + flicker group.

I combined several of my favorite stamp sets to make this card.
The Dragonfly is from the Butterflies / Dragonflies , Believe and  Created by hand
all from Quietfire Design .
The flower is from a set called Carved Flowers from Dark Room Doors.

To achieve the back ground I sponged Lindy's Stamp Gang -Moon shadows onto a pc of  white cardstock.
Then stamped the Flower, Dragonfly and Believe with Perfect Medium and added Lindy's SG Duo coloured embossing powder and heated with heat tool.
Went around edge with Glitter Paint Sharpie and coloured dots to match. Added ribbon and adhered to Pattern Cardstock base.

Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadows and Duo Coloured Embossing Powder are available at Quietfire Design as part of the French Heritage Kit

Hope you have a crafty day too!
