Butterfly Brilliance Card 1

Hello friends! Spring is on it's way and I'm celebrating with the beautiful new Butterfly Brilliance bundle from Stampin' Up! I find it fascinating that the gorgeous butterfly stamp images in this set are sketched from actual exotic butterflies from around the globe. Did I mention I love butterflies. :)

All product used is from Stampin' Up!.
I started with a A2 card base made from Just Jade CS that I inked around the edge with Just Jade.

Next I cut the small rainbow butterfly paper from the Butterfly Bijou DSP to 5-1/4 x 4 and inked around the edge with Just Jade before adhering to the base.

For the next layer I took a piece of  White CS cut to 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 and added a thin bead of Tombow liquid glue around the edge and waited for it to dry before adding Gold Leafing. I then adhered this to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I made a DIY stamp from a scrap of craft foam torn to size to give it a more organic shape and a die from the Butterfly Wings dies.

I then used it to stamp with Just Jade on the small mandala paper from the Butterfly Bijou DSP giving another layer of visual dimension to the 3-1/4 x 2-1/4 tag. I completed the tag by adding Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and adhering with Stampin' Dimenionals.

For embellishment I cut the butterfly out of  the Butterfly Bijou DSP with the coordinating Butterfly Wings die. Gave it some shaping and added Wink of Stella glitter pen to the wings. I adhered the body only of the butterfly leaving the wings free.

I used a sweet sentiment from the Garden Wishes stamped in Just Jade on White CS to match and also adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.

If you have any questions about my process please feel free to ask. Also if you live in Canada and would like to purchase any of the above Stampin' Up! products you can find them on my website here.

I leave you today with a photo of some Snow Drops, the first flowers of the year in my garden.

I wish you all a creative week with thanks for stopping by.

February Card Chain Challenge

It's time for another Card Chain Challenge share. Today's card is on its way to Suze in New Zealand. I am finding this one a bit funny as I went with the polar bear / winter scene and it's headed to full on Summer at the opposite end of our world. Sending Suze a sampling of the winter weather we endured with the Polar vortex. ;)

For my card I used all Stamperia product from their Arctic Antarctic line. I started by adding rice paper to white card for the background and adding compass with texture paste. The bears are chipboard and the map is a cut apart. This was matted with SU! cherry cobbler CS on a night of navy A2 CS base. To finish I added a bit of twine that is from SU! and matched very nicely.

And here is the beautiful card I received from Helen. I love how she used the challenge colours and friendship theme.

January Card Chain Challenge -Hello Balloons

Hello! This month my CCC card is on it's way to the UK. It's a lot of fun to send and receive a beautiful card each month. If you'd like to find out more please visit the  Card Chain Challenge blog here.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! For my front panel I stamped the Wild Rose BG stamp in Petal Pink onto White Cardstock. Then I added strips of double sided adhesive which I added gold leafing to.

For the balloons I used a variety of circle punches to cut out different sized circles from DSP and adhered these cascading down the centre of the panel. I finished the card by adhering the panel to an A2 base and adding the sentiment.

Here is another example made using the same supplies but this time adding the adhesive to the circles and adding glitter to some circles and gold leafing to others.

Thanks for looking!
