Butterfly Brilliance Card 1

Hello friends! Spring is on it's way and I'm celebrating with the beautiful new Butterfly Brilliance bundle from Stampin' Up! I find it fascinating that the gorgeous butterfly stamp images in this set are sketched from actual exotic butterflies from around the globe. Did I mention I love butterflies. :)

All product used is from Stampin' Up!.
I started with a A2 card base made from Just Jade CS that I inked around the edge with Just Jade.

Next I cut the small rainbow butterfly paper from the Butterfly Bijou DSP to 5-1/4 x 4 and inked around the edge with Just Jade before adhering to the base.

For the next layer I took a piece of  White CS cut to 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 and added a thin bead of Tombow liquid glue around the edge and waited for it to dry before adding Gold Leafing. I then adhered this to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I made a DIY stamp from a scrap of craft foam torn to size to give it a more organic shape and a die from the Butterfly Wings dies.

I then used it to stamp with Just Jade on the small mandala paper from the Butterfly Bijou DSP giving another layer of visual dimension to the 3-1/4 x 2-1/4 tag. I completed the tag by adding Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and adhering with Stampin' Dimenionals.

For embellishment I cut the butterfly out of  the Butterfly Bijou DSP with the coordinating Butterfly Wings die. Gave it some shaping and added Wink of Stella glitter pen to the wings. I adhered the body only of the butterfly leaving the wings free.

I used a sweet sentiment from the Garden Wishes stamped in Just Jade on White CS to match and also adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.

If you have any questions about my process please feel free to ask. Also if you live in Canada and would like to purchase any of the above Stampin' Up! products you can find them on my website here.

I leave you today with a photo of some Snow Drops, the first flowers of the year in my garden.

I wish you all a creative week with thanks for stopping by.

Poinsettia in Pink Card -Paper Tole

Hello friends, I confess that I love pink poinsettias. I had one in a water globe
once and it glowed as if it was lit up by Christmas magic. :)
What's your favorite Christmas decoration?

For this card I stamped the Quietfire Design Poinsettia three times with die ink.
Once in green for my base panel and then twice in pink for the top layers.
I coloured all layers with Bic markers and fussy cut the pink pieces,
then shaped them before setting aside.
Next I stamped the Merry Christmas before attaching the panel to my glimmer mat.
Which was then adhered to the card base layer.
The final step was to attach the flower pieces with pop dots.

Thanks for the visit!

Poinsettia in Pink Christmas Card

Hello again...this lovely stamp set from Quietfire Design arrived this afternoon and the moment I returned from the Post office I just had to create with it! It looks a bit wonky in the photo because I was pretty liberal with the water while painting with my dye inks. Next time I'll use watercolour paper in the meantime a couple days in the mail should flatten the card out just fine. :)

I'm happy to answer and questions you may have about my cards.
Happy crafting!

Playing Catch Up - Postcard, Thank you Card & ATC

Hello friends, today I'm playing catch up. The first share is a stamped collage postcard using the Dragon from Whimsy, Awesomely Artistic and Lovely as a Tree from SU!. The second a thank you card using an older Hero Arts stamp set. And my final share is a silly ATC titled Tropical Snowman made from an advertising flyer. The ATC and Postcard are available for trade.
I'm excited to be creating and trading ATCs again, I really missed it. :)

Challenge and Exchanges, Oh Yeah!

Hi friends, this evening I've got the Christmas blues going on but it's a good thing! I'm playing along in the Fusion card challenge -blue Christmas. This card was a breeze to make I added some sparkle to the patterned paper but sadly it doesn't show up.

Used a gorgeous stamp from Quietfire Design and SU! papers.

Fridays mail run netted me these three beauties below, it doesn't get much
better than this for happy mail days! :)
This sweet card is from Shauna for Nov SOS Card Chain Challenge.
These two gorgeous cards are from Arlene and LaVon as part of the
Angel Christmas card exchange on Age of Elegance Flickr Group Exchange.

Christmas Card Collection and Snow!

Good morning , let the clean up begin here's a view outside this morning.

Now on to the fun stuff and the rest of today's share, Christmas cards and a bookmark tag. These are
a mix of papers from my stash, die cuts and SU! stamps.

In the cards below I used my stamp for the snowflake details on the RH one and stenciled through my die for the LH one.

I really like how this bookmark tag came together, it's going to look great hanging on the front of a gift bag.

I'm always glad to answer any questions if you'd like to know more about how my cards are made.
Have a good weekend!

To Create is to touch the spirit Card for March CCC

Hello,
I hope you have been enjoying a sunny week too. Out at the lake house last weekend we had a half dozen crocuses peeking out between the bits of remaining snow. :)

Today I'd like to share  a card I made for the March Card Chain Challenge at SOS it is on it's way to Australia. A bit funny because the card I'm to receive will be coming from Australia.

This time I managed only 3 of the criteria as I just couldn't find a way to add lilac onto my card.

Here is a link to the March Card Chain Challenge info. and to see some great cards for last months exchange check February card chain challenge reveal

The wonderful quote stamp is from Quietfire Design

A RAK, a Card and a Thank you!

Good morning friends!

I've been RAK'd! ... the Christmas kindness just keeps on going.

What a nice surprise to find this wonderful joy card along with some extras from RS in my mail box on Friday! :)

On Saturday I attended a very successful craft supplies fund raiser for MG.

Our hostess YT offered up the most delicious baking and snacks. I wish I had taken a photo
of the table...super yummy!
She also had some fantastic homemade prizes for a draw that had a game twist to it so we had a lot of fun and laughter.

This is the awesome altered book journal and re-purposed tea towel apron I won. :)
Thanks for a fun afternoon YT.

I also found time to finally make a couple of cards on Sunday...woo hoo!

For this card I just layered papers and used distress markers straight and diluted for water colouring.
The image is from Penny Black called The Artist and the sentiment is from SU!, I think they go nicely together.

Due to technical difficulties... okay I confess I forgot my camera card.;) I'll have to share my other card next time.

Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Believe Card

Hello, back to share this colourful card I made for an exchange
in the LOVE handmade cards + flicker group.

I combined several of my favorite stamp sets to make this card.
The Dragonfly is from the Butterflies / Dragonflies , Believe and  Created by hand
all from Quietfire Design .
The flower is from a set called Carved Flowers from Dark Room Doors.

To achieve the back ground I sponged Lindy's Stamp Gang -Moon shadows onto a pc of  white cardstock.
Then stamped the Flower, Dragonfly and Believe with Perfect Medium and added Lindy's SG Duo coloured embossing powder and heated with heat tool.
Went around edge with Glitter Paint Sharpie and coloured dots to match. Added ribbon and adhered to Pattern Cardstock base.

Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadows and Duo Coloured Embossing Powder are available at Quietfire Design as part of the French Heritage Kit

Hope you have a crafty day too!
