T J Goddess Journal

Hi arty friends today I'm sharing the beginning of my TJ Goddess Journal. Back in November Cheran of Texture Junkies on YouTube invited me to join in a Journal make along. Today as I watched her latest installment I grabbed a used envelope and crafted a 12 page book and cover with it, along with one Journaling card.

The twelve pages have been attached to each other and the cover using Washi Tape which I glued in place with Mod Podge.
On the cover I added one of the statues from the digital kit that Cheran gifted me. It's base is covered by a napkin that I received in the envelope. There are several coats of Mod Podge on the cover. I finished it by dragging a Vintage Photo across it and adding some to the edges also to grunge it up a bit.
I plasticized and painted a gifted paper doily with as many as ten coats of Mod Podge, Gold paint and Izink Coffee spray. Added it as a hinged element to the front cover.
Also made some paper beads to add as dangling elements to the spine later.
The inside cover has words from a magazine that originally said 'Bring your color to life' from a paint advertisement. I like the grey tones of the statue against the colourful back ground. Usually it's the person that has color against a plain background. On the opposite page is a journal card made with a gel print and inkjet print that still needs a home.
My hope is to use more of the lovely gifts of papers and ephemera from my arty friends.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jutta

Receipts Wallet and Homemade Stencil

 Good morning!

Today's share is actually two.  A Wallet I made to corral my receipts an how I made my Stencil using a punch and reused sticker backing.

Outside Front Cover
Quote stamp from Quietfire Design

Homemade Hexagon Stencil

To make my stencil I used the backing from some sticker strips and the Stampin Up! Hexagon punch.

I started by punching a pattern in some card stock making a template. I attached the template to the clear backing with removable tape. Then punched through the template holes until my stencil was complete.

Here is the stencil in action as I start my Receipt Wallet.

The stencil is 12" long so that I can use it for my scrapbook pages too.

I hope you enjoyed my share today, thanks for visiting!

To create card

To create card, a photo by jmcraftygal on Flickr.
Now for a little confession, I was supposed to making a Christmas Card for our Christmas in July challenge over at LOVE! Handmade cards...but then a package from Quietfire Design arrived.

Oh well there is always tomorrow. ;)

For this card I started with a watercolour card blank. I masked it with a net that once held Limes. Lightly did several spritzes of PP Chartreuse and then ran DI Evergreen boughs around the edge.

Stamped the lovely Quietfire Design quote in Archival black.

Cut out ribbon flowers and adhered to glue dots. Then added punched out MS Snowflakes and leaves. Embellished with buttons and pearls.
As a final touch I added some squiggles of Sharpie glitter paint.

Tissue tape storage

Tissue tape storage by jmcraftygal
Tissue tape storage, a photo by jmcraftygal on Flickr.
I had been keeping my tissue tape in a glass jar and lately stacked on a dowel attached on my desk. Both ways looked great but I had to off load all the top rolls to get at the one I needed. So here is what I came up with, an empty wax paper box.

Okay I know it's not how you store double ended markers, but it makes for a nice photo. ;)

I cut circles from Acetate packaging. Then used one for stamping the bird image (Stampin Up!) and the other two on my button storage jars. Now I can see at a glance what they hold from above also. :)
