Christmas Kickstart Challenge #28

How clever is this Dotty Jo has started a monthly Christmas Kickstart Challenge for all the details go here. A great way to get all your cards made ahead of time. My take on the red theme for February is a traditional red, green and gold card. It features a lovely sentiment and die design from Quietfire Design.

Valentine's Day Cards

Oops I guess it would help if I actually pressed publish, oh well better late than never. ;)
A post I was reading a few weeks ago now reminded me of Valentine's Day back in elementary school. Every year we would make a something such as a giant decorated heart to hang on our desk. Every one including the teacher exchanged Valentines. It was a lot of fun and the best part back then was that no one was left out! I have been so lucky to have a caring family and awesome group of friends that have helped me out during  the last few years that I decided every one needed a card.
Thanks every one I really appreciate every kindness more than words can convey!

Spring has Sprung and A Trio of Cards

The sun is out and its warming up beautifully outside. The daffodils, irises and snow drops are popping up all over the yard. All but a few of the geese and ducks have now left the lake to head north to their summer homes.  Spring has definitely sprung here at the lake!

Yesterday I enjoyed a day of scrapbooking and card making. It is so nice to spend the day with like minded crafty people. I even managed to get a 2 page spread done along with the cards and started on an Art Journal but that's for another day.
Distress inks and stencil on whisper white card stock.
The sentiment is one of  Suzanne Cannon's new Quietfire Design stamps.
It's been entered into Love Handmade Cards... April Challenge
Stamped the bird direct to designer paper then used a
marker to extend the branch to the edge of card.
Added a bit of colour with markers.
Stamps from Stampin Up!
Coloured stamped tulip image with markers.  The robins are
punched out of designer paper brown marker was added
then clear embossed. Sentiment from Stampin Up!.
This card is on it's way to Croatia as part of the April Card Chain Challenge.
I have also entered this into the Die Cut Divas April challenge.
And a photo of Taag and Jada after they decided that the chair is big enough for the two of them. They had been fighting over it all winter. Peace at last! :)

I managed to use 4 of the criteria for this card and that is pretty good for me. ;) The pretty snowflakes are from 3 different Stampin Up! sets and the sentiment is from Quietfire Design.

Knitted Dishcloth Thanks

Hello, today I'm sharing a quick little thank you gift I made for a kind neighbor. I loved knitting up these little dishcloths. I made the box out of  heavy DSP on my box punch board. The 3x3 card was embellished by tracing the leaves with clear glitter pen. The thanks sentiment is from Quietfire Design.

Decorated Seven by Nine Binder

Hello friends, I'm changing gears today putting away the Christmas cards and gift wrap.

I brought along a selection of Valentine stamps to have on hand as we move into the New Year. They are stored in a 7 x 9 binder plain white and boring. So today I changed that by taking a sheet from my Collage Art Stack and randomly stamping all over it to make some cover inserts for my binder. These binders make great little albums too. This was  a super easy and fun project to do.

Supplies used:
Binder from Staples
DCWV Collage Art Stack
Stamps;
Quietfire Design -Go Forth and Alter, Created by Hand, Double Stroke Capital J, Illuminations 2
Stampin Up! -Awesomely Artistic
Stazon Black and Black marker

Have a crafty day!

Poinsettia in Pink Card -Paper Tole

Hello friends, I confess that I love pink poinsettias. I had one in a water globe
once and it glowed as if it was lit up by Christmas magic. :)
What's your favorite Christmas decoration?

For this card I stamped the Quietfire Design Poinsettia three times with die ink.
Once in green for my base panel and then twice in pink for the top layers.
I coloured all layers with Bic markers and fussy cut the pink pieces,
then shaped them before setting aside.
Next I stamped the Merry Christmas before attaching the panel to my glimmer mat.
Which was then adhered to the card base layer.
The final step was to attach the flower pieces with pop dots.

Thanks for the visit!

Poinsettia in Pink Christmas Card

Hello again...this lovely stamp set from Quietfire Design arrived this afternoon and the moment I returned from the Post office I just had to create with it! It looks a bit wonky in the photo because I was pretty liberal with the water while painting with my dye inks. Next time I'll use watercolour paper in the meantime a couple days in the mail should flatten the card out just fine. :)

I'm happy to answer and questions you may have about my cards.
Happy crafting!

DIY CD Case Printing Press and Cards

Hello crafty friends, this morning I found some time to make a few cards, it took me three tries to put the sentiment on my stenciled Santa card. Then this evening  I discovered a video in you tube and voila sentiment printing just got a whole lot easier for me.
This CD case makes it easy to line up and print multiple copies
of a sentiment or other stamped images.
Using a Quietfire Design stamp here.

Close up view of double stamped sentiment.

This was the card that challenged me, Joyful sentiment is from SU!
I cut out Santa with my Slice and used it as a stencil.

create without limits -Bookmark

Hello!
Here today sharing a bookmark I made with the fun Quietfire Design calligraphy stamp create without limits.

For the top panel, I started with a scrap of watercolour paper that was torn out of my Art Journal.
-Daubed a bit of pink and lt blue here and there on the dry w/c paper and roughed up the one edge that was torn from the Journal to give it more texture.
-Next I used a Memory Box die to cut craft foam for an outline stamp as well as various colours of card stock for building the flowers and pot (set aside).
-After lightly wetting the w/c paper I used the craft foam outline stamp with dk blue ink  to make a shadow, let dry completely.
-Next I glued the lt brown CS outline over the inked shadow I coloured the flowers, leaves and pot with markers before adding the leaves and flowers in green CS followed by the flowers only in yellow CS.
Note: With the multiple layers offset slightly it gives it a nice 3d effect.
-Completed panel by stamping sentiment in same dk blue as the shadow.
Then adhered panel to coordinating  patterned paper then to card stock. Since I had an plastic sleeve on hand I used it but it would look just fine without too.

Entered this into the Die Cut Divas March Challenge.

Randoms:

The sun is finally high enough that we can enjoy it in our sun room,
hard to get up from a lunch break in here. ;)

Reflections, a photo from our files that I dedicate to my
aunt and godmother who left us last week.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
